The automotive industry demands more powerful test systems, for example for drive trains and components of hybrid and electric vehicles. Automobiles, utility vehicles and advanced machines require sophisticated test procedures to measure and ensure the reproducibility of power output, service life, efficiency, safety and ease of use of components and systems. Simulating a machine‘s behaviour when pushed to the limit under extreme environmental conditions is another requirement.





Modern test bench designs allow for tests that approximate practical and realistic conditions with high testing accuracy. High flexibility is necessary to accommodate the testing of prototypes, pre-series and constantly changing products or partial systems. This is the only way to ensure long-term investment protection. Our systems also use energy recuperation to increase efficiency and reduce power consumption to a minimum.

Today, our test bench energy system is a core component of test benches used in research and development, quality assurance and EOL testing. Due to its dynamic characteristics and capabilities it can be utilised in a wide variety of feed and simulation tasks. One possible application is the simulation of a battery: During the motion control profile test for a hybrid or EV drive train, the test bench energy system takes the role of the vehicle battery. In a pure battery test, possible tasks range from characterisation to long-term service life testing and from startup protection to EOL testing. With ERS Series, Heinzinger electronic can offer systems in all performance classes for each application.

Standard units of the ERS series are available as single channel or dual channel units. Dual channel units offer, besides the capability for power output distribution, a wide range of connection variations. The power supply units are applicable to different applications universally:
