Heinzinger high-voltage power supply units generate DC high voltages ranging from 5V to 20kV. This DC voltage can be transmitted over long distances almost lossfree and with smaller currents. Relevant high-voltage power lines are part of submarine cables. The DC voltage is converted to 48V supply voltage not before reaching the consumer.
